Questions To Consider When Choosing A Doctor

You may have several concerns while choosing a suitable primary care doctors for yourself or a family member. Such concerns need to reflect your specific needs, priorities and situation. These questions could help you in deciding what’s more important to you currently:


1. Where is the primary care doctor located? Would it be easier for you to get to their practice? Would you be able to get to the primary care doctor Las Vegas using public transportation? Is there parking available there?

2. Which hospitals and clinics does that doctor use? Are you really comfortable with being treated at any one of them if such a need arises? Does your insurance plan cover the care provided at those hospitals and clinics?

3. Where are the routine lab tests and x-rays performed? Can these tests be done in-office, or would you be required to go to a specific lab for it?

4. How long would you be required to wait for getting an appointment after you place a call? Would it be possible to visit the doctor the same day if a need arises? Is the doctor affiliated with the telehealth service providers?

5. Is the staff courteous and friendly?

6. If you call the doctor’s office with a concern regarding your care, does the nurse or the doctor themself return your call promptly?

7. Who would be covering for the doctor, in case they are away? Whom would you call in case you have a problem after-hours? In case your doctor works in group, would you be comfortable with visiting any one of the practicing partners?
